Our Local Partners involved in MEMEX pilots

In order to enable the project to unfold as well as possible on the pilot sites, the consortium partners can rely on the expertise and the network of local partners. Thanks to their invaluable mobilization and their perfect knowledge of the inhabitants and the terrain, the pilots will gain in efficiency and relevance.

Academia de Produtores Culturais

“Academia de Produtores Culturais” is an association founded in 2009 that has been working with local communities in Lisbon developing a yearly cultural festival called TODOS (everybody).

Their work promotes Lisbon as an intercultural city through contemporary arts, inviting audiences to meet and explore cultures from all around the world within the Portuguese capital city. The festival is promoted and produced between the association and the Lisbon City Council and works directly with local communities trying to eliminate territorial ghettos associated with immigration.

Beyond the festival, the “Academia” works throughout the year in several other community activities.

Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr

Created in 1951 as a private institution of public utility, IMVF is a foundation for development and cooperation that started its activity as a NGDO in 1988. From the 1990s onward, IMVF expanded its activity to other Portuguese speaking countries, broadening its scope of intervention.

Its mission is the promotion of human dignity, equal rights, opportunities and justice for all, improving the welfare of the most vulnerable populations, fighting against exclusion and contributing towards a more sustainable planet as a cornerstone to guarantee living conditions for present and future generations.

Its work is centred on a strong commitment to best practices in the strengthening of communities, public entities and civil society regarding the respect of values and principles such as solidarity, gender equality, sustainability, accuracy and transparency. With a staff of 250, of which more than 90% are involved in field work, IMVF has become a key stakeholder in different areas of expertise and intervention.

International Council of Museums, Portugal

The International Council of Museums (ICOM), created in 1946, is the world organization for museums and museum professionals. ICOM is dedicated to the promotion and protection of natural and cultural heritage, present and future, tangible and intangible. With more than 35 000 members in 135 countries, ICOM's network is made by professionals that encompass a wide range of disciplines related to museums and heritage.

The Portuguese National Committee of ICOM, also known as ICOM Portugal, is mentioned in an ICOM publication as already existing in the beggining of the 1950's and represents, in the national territory, the international organization it is a member of.

Lusophone Culture and Citizenship Association

The ALCC (Associação Lusofonia Cultura e Cidadania : Lusophone Culture and Citizenship Association) is a non profit organization recognized by the High Commission for Migration (Alto Comissariado para as Migrações), that aims for the integration of people and communities, through the promotion of the individual, cultural, social and economic capacities of migrant communities and their descendants. It provides a range of freely available services, that include the recognition and defense of integration rights for migrant citizens, interventions in the enhancement of their socioeconomic conditions, consulting in social areas (such as social service, education and  training, employability, and law) and interventions areas (such as support to victims of domestic violence, youths or food support, among others).

Centre social et culturel de Rosa Parks

The Rosa-Parks association, born in 2014, brings together citizens and associations mobilized since 2011 in an area ranging from the Porte de la Villette to the Porte de la Chapelle. Since December 2016, it has managed the Rosa-Parks social and cultural center, a place of welcome, conviviality, leisure and participation of residents around their projects.

CapaCités

The multidisciplinary team of CapaCités articulates the "lived city", the "city of discussion", the "plan city", the "city of today and tomorrow".

CapaCités designs and supports the stages of collective construction processes between all the actors of urban life: inhabitants, elected officials, technicians, professionals, institutions, associative structures, economic actors ...

They offer frameworks, approaches and tools for shared work on the common good in which stakeholders - in all their diversity - find expression in the city.

To co-produce a sustainable city, CapaCités sets itself the ambition of moving from power and power relations to collective and collaborative power links.

Régie de quartier du 19ème

The Régie de quartier is a private institution of public utility and association which gathers the Municipality of Paris, social housing landlords, associations and inhabitants to improve the quality of life within the District 19 of Paris.

It aims to :

Offer the 19th district inhabitants job opportunities linked to general maintenance: parks and gardens, public roads, construction work.

Offer and support projects to mobilize and raise awareness about the quality of the living environment.

laBonne

laBonne is a cultural centre dedicated to women, with headquarters in the heart of Ciutat Vella (Barcelona). The Francesca Bonnemaison Women Cultural Center has a long and extensive history and genealogy related to the struggle for women’s rights in Barcelona.  In 1909, Francesca Bonnemaison founded the Biblioteca Popular de la Dona, the first public women’s library in Europe. Currently, laBonne is a space for meeting, exchanging and creating feminist cultural projects. These are characterised by a contemporary and multidisciplinary nature, especially in the following fields: audio-visual, performance, performing arts, living arts and research.

laBonne offers women the opportunity, among others, to attend a professional training program in the audio-visual field, through the audio-visual tools, which are training courses on specific techniques. The Feminist Laboratory of Documentary Creation is a space where, in addition to acquiring knowledge about documentary production, feminist kinetics are seen as a source of debate and reflection, and then transferred to the production, both in the way of approaching the contents as in their narrative strategies.

Sindillar/Sindihogar

Sindillar-Sindihogar was founded in 2011 in Barcelona and represents the first independent union in Spain of migrant women workers in the care and domestic service sector. Fifty women of 16 different nationalities got together at the founding assembly, and diversity continues to be a constant feature as well as their major strength. It is an experimental laboratory whose main objectives are the women autonomy, dignity and care. Sindillar generates joint cultural projects with La Bonne, such as Migròctones, Madremanya and Rebomboris. laBonne supports them by providing a space from which they can work.

Memex project started in 2019 and will run until 2022.
